Design brief

Family Planning NSW (FPNSW) is a non-government organisation specialising in providing reproductive and sexual health services throughout NSW.

In conjunction with FPNSW, Digital Garden designed a tool to educate teenagers in the classroom and to help facilitate discussions around the topics of consent, sex and relationships.

During the design process, we went out to young people to get their opinions on the illustration style and content, to see if it would be engaging and interesting for 15 to 18-year-olds. One main concern that came up was making sure that the characters were gender neutral so that the scenarios would appeal to everyone.

Choose your own adventure

Choose your own adventure

The tool is a choose your own adventure activity, where students can select different pathways that they would like to explore. On each different pathway, there are also links to additional resources and further information.

Classroom posters

Classroom posters

Digital Garden designed colourful and engaging posters that promote the tool and can be hung around the classroom. The posters reflect the three stories and have QR codes so that students can easily access each one.

Flexible and responsive

Flexible and responsive

The tool was designed to work across multiple devices, so that students could access it on their phone or follow along on larger devices such as iPad, desktop and classroom smartboards.

It is also available as a downloadable app so it can be viewed offline, which is handy in the classroom environment or places with limited internet.

Thanks for working with us to create such a fantastic, dynamic tool to support young people’s health literacy on these topics. We have had some great feedback in the classroom!
