ChallengeGradAustralia is a specialist provider of internship and graduate job search tools and resources, providing unrivalled advice and information to students as they make the transition from education to employment. With successful print publications yet a lagging digital presence, GradAustralia engaged Digital Garden to go back to the whiteboard on their website. The mission was to better understand their users and ensuring a carefully crafted user experience (UX).
SolutionThe completely new full-featured employer section provides reviews for each category - for example, culture and salary - insights, events, videos, graduate stories and more. Having an extensive expertise in Drupal development, Digital Garden has also created features such as:
- Brand new responsive design with a mobile-first approach
- A layered approach on the homepage, targeting identified user groups and tasks
- Completely revamped search engine for job applications using faceted search
- New insights section to create and promote engaging content articles
- Smart ebook downloads capturing graduate info and encouraging registration
ResultGradAustralia grew year on year, following its partnership with Digital Garden. It overtook its main rival and (then) market-leader. As you can read in our whitepaper on this project, the project scope expanded to allow for the GradMalaysia, GradSingapore, and PostgradAustralia versions of the site. Same framework. Different content.
UX workshops provided key insights on how we could better engage and communicate with users. User goals discovered helped inform the prototyping process that mapped out new functionality as well as reworking existing features and the interface layout.
These high fidelity prototypes enabled a very productive feedback loop with GradAustralia, allowing for a very agile approach to change management until we got to where we wanted to be. From that point we had a strong blueprint of our solution to build upon.
A key component to success is SEO, with Digital Garden conducting an extensive audit on keyword and competitor analysis, information architecture and development best-practice. All pages have now been built with strong SEO principles in mind allowing for very targeted campaigns, such as the Accenture Graduate Culture page.
