The University of New South Wales’ (UNSW) Division of Philanthropy identified that they needed to have a single-platform solution designed and developed for its – until then – separate UNSW Alumni and UNSW Giving websites.

The Challenge

Digital Garden was engaged for the architecture and development phase of work of the newly designed ‘UNSW Alumni & Giving’ solution that merged these two units into a cohesive, responsive website to help UNSW Philanthropy meet its communication and stakeholder engagement objectives.
The old websites had been complex to manage across two different CMS. They were neither user friendly nor fully responsive and there were ongoing issues with the websites’ maintenance and their content publishing features.

Collaborative design for a dynamic UNSW Alumni & Giving website

Collaborative design for a dynamic UNSW Alumni & Giving website

Working in a team with the design agency and the client at UNSW, Digital Garden built and configured the new UNSW Alumni & Giving website taking a component-based approach. This will allow CMS users with basic know-how the ability to create unique pages on the fly in the future without further involvement of designers or developers.

We worked to integrate the new website with the UNSW transactional portal that processes donations from those giving to the university or various causes highlighted on the site.

Enhanced user experience for UNSW alumni & donors

Enhanced user experience for UNSW alumni & donors

The end result was a fresh user experience for alumni and donor stakeholders alike to keep connected with UNSW while highlighting the benefits and generosity of the community. Users now experience a consistent and seamless product, from phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.
