Digital Garden joins the global B Corp community

A milestone that reflects who we are
Since launching in 2003, Digital Garden has always believed that great digital experiences should create a positive impact — for people, communities, and the planet. Becoming B Corp certified formalises that belief and celebrates what’s been at the heart of our business from the very beginning: doing good work, in every sense of the word.
What it means to be a B Corp
B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a not-for-profit organisation that assesses how companies perform across five key areas — governance, people, community, environment, and customers. To qualify, businesses must score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment and legally commit to considering the interests of all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
Digital Garden achieved over 90 points, reflecting our long-standing commitment to ethical practice, sustainability, inclusivity, and accountability. For us, certification isn’t just a badge — it’s a framework for improvement and a reminder to keep raising the bar in everything we do.
How our work aligns with the B Corp pillars
Governance
We operate with transparency and accountability at every level — from how we manage projects to how we run our business. Our policies uphold strong ethical and information-security standards, guided by ISO 27001 principles, ensuring that client and user data are managed securely and responsibly.
Our people
Digital Garden is built around people. We support flexible working, continuous learning, and career growth through our junior developer program, which has been running for more than 20 years. Our teams in Sydney and Melbourne collaborate closely, creating a culture of trust, creativity, and wellbeing that allows everyone to do their best work.
Community
We’re lucky to work with organisations that make a real difference — from designing accessible digital platforms for the Office of the Children’s Guardian and Energy Consumers Australia, to supporting environmental leadership through NABERS, knowledge sharing at the National Library of Australia, global health initiatives with Médecins Sans Frontières, and housing accessibility through Housing Australia. Each project reflects our belief that design and technology can make information more inclusive, transparent, and empowering for everyone.
Environment
Sustainability is woven into how we work. Our websites are hosted on Upsun, a certified green hosting provider, and we actively reduce our footprint through remote work, low-waste practices, and thoughtful procurement. We also help clients communicate their sustainability goals through data-driven design and digital storytelling.
Customers
Our clients trust us to design and build digital platforms that make information accessible to all. We work across government, education, health, and sustainability sectors, creating websites, tools, and applications that are inclusive, WCAG 2.1 AA compliant, and centred around the people who use them. Projects such as NABERS, Housing Australia, and the National Library of Australia reflect our focus on usability, clarity, and impact at scale.
Looking ahead
Becoming a B Corp isn’t the finish line — it’s a new chapter. Certification is renewed every three years, and we’re already identifying ways to lift our score and deepen our impact.
As we continue to design, build, and support digital experiences for clients across Australia, we’ll keep using our business as a force for good — helping others achieve their goals while contributing to a fairer, more sustainable world.
We’re proud to be part of the global B Corp community — proving that purpose and performance can thrive together.
